Nancy Portoghese Bauer is the owner of Future Realty Management Group, Inc. and is an active member of the Mineola Chamber of Commerces Board of Directors, currently holding the position of Membership Chairperson, and is the 2004 MINEOLA BUSINESS PERSON OF THE YEAR.

As a resident of Mineola, Ms. Portoghese is a member of the Board of Directors of the Mineola Chamber of Commerce. She is also an active member of Kiwanis Club of County Seat, and the Mineola-Garden City Rotary Club. Through these affiliations, her service includes Volunteer Chairperson for the Mineola Fair Committee, Mineola Chamber Grant Committee, Mineola Chamber Scholarship Chairperson, Business Development Committee Chairperson, Senior Appreciation Day, Mayors Halloween Party,and the presentation of academic awards to Mineola students; and, she is a major sponsor of the Mineola Fair.

Ms. Portoghese is a Trustee of Mineolas Pool and Recreation Board, and has served as such since 1999. As Board Member, she is involved with all aspects of pool and parks operations; and resident activities throughout the year. She is a committee person with the Mineola Republican Committee, and President of the John S. DaVanzo Republican Club.

She is a major sponsor and volunteer committee member with the Mineola Mustang Run, a charitable event which raises tens of thousands of dollars for local services, organizations and charities. She is also a fundraising organizer for the Cancer Center for Kids at Winthrop-University Hospital.

Dr. Lorenzo Licopoli, Superintendent of the Mineola School District, has appointed Ms. Portoghese to the newly formed Strategic Planning Committee. At Corpus Christi Church, she has been appointed Community Liaison to the Middle States Academic Accreditation Committee, and as well to the Parish Council.  She also sings soprano in the Choir every Sunday.

A graduate of New York University ("NYU"), Ms. Portoghese began her real estate management career in the mid-1980s, servicing such property owners as the Rockefeller Group, Tishman, and Olympia & York. As her management career continued, so did her formal education with postgraduate studies at NYUs Real Estate Institute, in real estate management.

Her professional experience and services include: management of senior housing, management of commercial properties, residential rental properties, cooperatives, condominiums, and home owners associations. Ms. Portoghese also provides brokerage services, and consulting services in connection with the formation of new cooperatives, condominiums, including that of senior housing. Ms. Portoghese is the president of FUTURE Realty Management Group, Inc.

Ms. Portoghese has continued her professional studies in brokerage, real estate finance, as well as property management. She has also completed a business program in entrepreneurship with the Scott Skodnek Business Development Center at Hofstra University, where she has returned on three occasions as a guest speaker.

Before moving to Mineola, Ms. Portogheses volunteer activities included teaching in the adult literacy program of Queensborough Community College. She was also recognized as an Outstanding Young Woman of America, for service and professional accomplishment.
